Some special areas of focus for our work together can include: Personal and Spiritual Growth, Life Transitions and Adjustments, Relationship Issues (all kinds) The most important factor in therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. As a therapist, I hope to become your ally - someone you can trust and with whom you can feel safe to let down your defenses to work on issues.
Rob has been a licensed Psychologist since 1997 with 30 years of clinical experience. He believes counseling and therapy begins with creating a safe and trusting relationship. More than any techniques, the relationship with each other is the most important part in determining success in our work together. He works with and has a great deal experience in helping people with depression, anxiety, work and career difficulties, trauma and stress management. He combines diverse approaches fitting the need of the person. These include psychodynamic that sees how our past relationships effects our present ones. Mindfulness therapy to develop skills for living in the present and recognizing unhelpful thoughts that can be self defeating. Counseling and therapy can provide the strength needed to move on from being stuck, and creating change that can free you to live the life that you want.
Rooted in a firm belief in every person’s inherent dignity, I focus on assisting clients to identify and seek their purpose, uncover and overcome obstacles, and maximize joy in daily living. I work with clients of all ages struggling with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief and loss. From a position of authentic support and nonjudgment, I work with clients to move towards healthy and joyful living via cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic approaches. The decision to pursue change and growth is a brave one and I applaud you for taking the first step. I welcome the chance to join you in that endeavor.
I believe in working from a systems perspective, which means as the therapist, I take into consideration all of the systems which have (had) an impact on the client’s life; including their family, work environment, neighborhood, the society at large, how they were raised, & their cultural and/or religious background. Grounded in the use of Brief, Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I am also well versed in other therapy modalities. My usual treatment method is to give a client presenting for therapy as much control over their own treatment as possible. My responsibility is to guide our sessions together in a clinically helpful, safe, & appropriate manner. After the first few sessions, the client(s) and I will reach mutual agreement as to whether we feel good about moving forward with treatment as a team. My Masters in Psychology (Marriage and Family Track) training (1995-1998) & subsequent work (1998-2001) took place in The San Francisco Bay Area, where I worked with people from many diverse cultures, including immigrants from all over the world. There, I gained experience working with families, (intact, blended, or otherwise), partial families, couples (heterosexual and same sex), adolescents, and with individuals. I moved to Colorado from California in mid- 2001, and I obtained my License as a Colorado Marriage and Family Therapist in 2002. After this I spent many years working with individuals & families presenting widely varying types of mental health diagnoses, before deciding to start a private practice in 2010.

"I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul." - William Henley. People want to feel in control. But, when people experience internal or external change, and resist such, they can feel a loss of control. By identifying aspirations, increasing insight, developing integrity, and encouraging self-care, I have helped countless clients regain control. I have worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, and inpatient; and with a variety of populations, including adults, adolescents, and children experiencing depressive, anxiety, trauma/stressor, disruptive/impulse-control, substance, or personality disorders. These experiences have sharpened my ability to quickly develop rapport with a diverse clientele, identify a wide range of issues in clients, and problem-solve with clients solutions to such issues. Presently, I specialize in adolescents and adults experiencing depressive or anxiety symptoms. So many people are affected by these symptoms. Furthermore, these symptoms can be so paralyzing and affect, not only individuals, but the people individuals relate to. For me, it is deeply satisfying to see people free themselves from these symptoms. I am credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). My techniques include Cognitive-Behavior, Psychodynamic, and Existential therapies. I love my work, and I look forward to working with you.

My practice holds space to heal and enable growth to cope with these symptoms. I am an EMDR and TF-CBT trained therapist. I specialize in working with trauma victims, young and not so young. I am an LGBTQ-affirming therapist who believes that all are genuinely welcome and accepted in my office. I am so honored I get to create healing space for my clients and their families. Since 2011, I’ve been working as a professional who specializes in helping people cope with their issues in faith-based institutions. I walk alongside with my clients in a way where mercy meets wisdom. No matter whether they are emotional issues or relational issues, I will dedicate myself to listening to your challenges and struggles. I have been through valleys of suffering and pits of darkness in my own life, and all my experiences have made who I am now. I will not hesitate to empower my client by envisioning myself to BE each of them, so that they will know they are not alone anymore, as they now have a fellow traveler in life. More than professionalism, I regard counseling sessions a journey towards maturity and self-revitalization. It is easy to be indulged in times full of sophistication and hypocrisy, while I dedicate myself to listen to, accompany, and understand my clients. I master and conduct multiple therapy techniques that will cover most needs, but still, the best tool of my counseling are my ears and heart. You are always worthy of someone who listens to, cares about, and understands you, and that is more than what I do. That is what I am to be.

In turn, I show you how to activate the parts of you that will choose to partner, parent, work, lead or be, relationally savvy and respectful, in a wise, gentle, firm and purposeful way. My work is highly collaborative based on RLT model and groundbreaking neuroscience findings, drawing also from extensive Trauma work, Co-occurring Disorders training, Encountered-Couples’-Centered Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I also hold international certification on addictions (ICAADC) and problem gambling (SCPG). (Languages: Spanish/English)

I provide psychological assessments for diagnostic and educational purposes, for treatment planning or referral to other practitioners. I conduct individual and group psychotherapy with the survivors of sexual abuse and/or physical trauma; to those grappling with their gender identity and males exploring masculinity issues; to individuals and families infected with or affected by HIV disease; to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersexed, and questioning individuals. Additionally, I provide crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, treatment planning and pre-release planning to prison inmates and judicially committed male adults. One important mission for me is to provide lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities an affirming therapeutic environment where one's sexual orientation and gender identity are understood and supported, free from the judgment that homosexual, bisexual or transgender experiences are pathological. I embrace sex-positivity as my attitude towards human sexuality.
Many of the patients I have worked with have tried multiple ways to address their problems, including seeing different therapists and/or taking medications, but have not progressed much. Many treatment approaches these days are superficial, focusing on reducing the number or severity of symptoms or offering only coping skills. However, these approaches usually only provide temporary relief, but never address the underlying causes of those symptoms. A reduction in symptoms is almost never what struggling people are looking for; instead they want to know where and why problems started and how to fix them permanently. I take a direct and compassionate approach, diving deeply into my patients' concerns. I avoid superficial, symptom management approaches, instead focusing on the deep causes of psychological issues. I have many years of experience working with a broad range of people, which has given me a keen eye for underlying problems.
My name is Dr. Andre Marseille. I am an internationally trained Existentialist and Positive Psychotherapist (PPT). Not to be confused with Positive Psychology, my goals in therapy are to help clients achieve Life-Balance. According to PPT, life can be viewed in four domains including: (1) body/health, (2) work/achievement, (3) relationships/traditions, and (4) meaning/fantasy/spirituality. The demands of globalization and an evolving, cross-cultural world make it more and more difficult for people to find and maintain their Life-Balance. Nonetheless, maintaining life balance is the key to a mentally healthy & meaningful life. I am an existentialist. I help clients explore the deeper, more meaningful aspects of life including meaning & purpose, life, death, love, happiness and connection. I explore these pillars of life with clients to help them address their presenting issues so that they can discover and use their own agency to address life's most difficult challenges.

Knowing how and when to reach out for help is often the most difficult part of the process. You have done the first and most important step of reaching out and I am here for you every step of the way.

Do you feel like you're broken or like something is just missing? Has anxiety or depression taken over your life and made you feel like it's hostage? As much as it doesn't feel that way, you are not alone. My core values reinforce the idea that we are all people helping people. This is why I believe that as your therapist I am a passenger on your path to self-exploration. I can help provide you with tools and coping skills and provide a different outlook but you are the one driving the car. I am a bilingual therapist that uses a culturally competent lens to empower individuals. I utilize a down to earth, genuine, and caring approach to help clients build resilience, heal from life’s challenges, and unlock their own strengths. While growing up my family and friends held the typically Hispanic mentality of believing that mental health is something you can overcome with will power and strength. In therapy I learned that will power is not enough, you need a skilled person to guide you, and I can be that guide for you.
It takes an enormous amount of courage to take the first step towards purposeful change. I’m here to walk that path with you. Throughout our lifetimes we encounter challenging experiences that we may not feel prepared for. This can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck or numb. Whether your emotional pain originates from current life stressors, past trauma, anxiety, depression, loss, change, or somewhere less identifiable, I believe every single person is capable of healing & growth. I am here to help you acknowledge the good & the not-so-good, make sense of your thoughts & feelings & gain a deeper understanding of who you are. The most important part of successful therapy is trust & genuine human connection. I provide a therapeutic safe space in which to develop that trust, build an alliance, & work collaboratively with you as an individual using a personalized treatment approach. I am passionate about supporting you through life’s challenges & living a happier & healthier life. My practice is open to all cultures and orientations. I offer both individual therapy (to youth, adolescents and young adults) & family therapy. I have experience in providing therapy to treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, life-transitions, and grief.
I am a trauma and grief specialist. I believe healing is possible on the deepest most profound level. That you have the power to change your life. I believe in treating everyone with empathy, positive regard and unconditional acceptance. My approach is integrative and holistic, combining person-centered, transpersonal, somatic and existential therapies. In other words, I treat you as the multidimensional person you are. Healing body, mind and soul. In addition, I bring in applied shamanism and yoga to assist in your healing journey. I believe in collaboration, humor and imagination in therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 5 years of experience.
